Neveah Buchanan, the little 5-year-old girl missing from Monroe, has been found dead. (story archives HERE)
My sympathies go out to all of those who knew her before she was an Amber Alert, before she was a headline in the newspaper, or the talk of the grocery store. The neighbors, her little buddies, her extended family, her teachers, her classmates.
But for the rest of the community who didn’t know this girl before she went missing, what are we going to do now?
There are 100’s, maybe 1000’s of other little kids just like Neveah in Monroe County. Kids who have parents dealing with addictions, kids who are being raised by a grandparent, kids with parents who are making really bad decisions, kids who are left unsupervised.
There’s a hundred angles to this story. Pick any cause and devote one hour each week to working on it. Skip one hour of TV or internet and *do*something. That’s a real way to honor little Neveah.

I love this idea. My 5 year old is to young to realize all the details of Neveahs’ story but she sure can learn a few things, age appropriate of course, through volunteering. And I can learn as well. Thanks for the push in the right direction.
