Since nobody in our house likes the same kind of cereal, we end up with a lot of empty cereal boxes.
Hmmm. well, I’m no math whiz but I guess the same amount of cereal would be eaten, so maybe we’d end up with the same amount of empty boxes, but they’d just all be the same variety.
?!?!
ANYWAYS! My point was that two Saturdays ago, everyone emptied their cereal box. Those seven empty cardboard boxes were screaming “MAKE A CRAFT OUT OF ME!”
So we ended up with some very fancy flip flops:

(note: the straps are secured underneath by duct tape)
And a cereal village, complete with houses, a swingset, a slide, a pole barn, and a pool:
It occupied them for the better part of the afternoon, and the little ones were impressed by my skills (”How do you know how to do this awesome stuff?”) because they don’t know any better (”What is that supposed to even be?” said the older one).
And the flip flops are still going strong!
