Van Halen have not only brought back Diamond Dave, but they’ve decided to resurrect their original logo (which I think was designed by Mr. Roth himself). It was last used by the band in 1986, having been dropped when Sammy Hagar was enlisted as new singer.

The Detroit Free Press did a short history of rock and roll trademarks including the truth behind the Stones’ famous lips logo, pop culture’s most successful rock icon.
