Eagles turn their backs on rock and roll
“Certainly, country is one of the last bastions of good songwriting — and of singing in tune. As long as we’re on the charts. Any chart will do. Country music is now akin to what my generation was listening to in the ’60s and ’70s.”
Don Henley in Rolling Stone on the Eagles shift in sound to country

Eagles rock. Hate to brake it to the world…but they’ve ALWAYS been country. Their brand has never quite fir one genre and thats whats great about em. The new stuff sounds just as vital as the old stuff. Not too many artists out there today who churn out “real music.” 5part harmonies. It just doesnt get any better than that! And I can only hope that the Dixie Chicks do get their super bowl slot…but thats ANOTHER argument…
