Louisiana guitar hero at the Ark
Slide guitarist extraordinaire Sonny Landreth will be appearing at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Thursday, April 17. Mr. Landreth was the first white member of Clifton Chenier’s Red Hot Louisiana Band, and other musicians he’s worked with include John Hiatt, John Mayall, Zachary Richard, Beausoleil, Junior Wells, Mark Knopfler, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock, Allen Toussaint, and Steve Riley. Eric Clapton calls Sonny “probably the most underestimated musician on the planet and that’s saying something. . .

Sonny is very under-rated!! i saw him with Jimmy Buffet last time Buffet came through DTE, and it wasnt even announced that he was part of the band or anything…he just kinda wandered on & off stage at sporatic points in the show. It was kinda funny. But cool…cause Im a fan and I knew who he was…but to the rest of the crowd I’m sure had no idea and could have cared less…but i believe he appeared on Jimmys latest album at that point.
