Thats a HUGE loss! E STreet have always been my favorite touring band EVER! Luckily i got to see Danny with the band this last time around when they came to the Palace! And actually when you mention the hits...you can say "Hungry Heart" through "Girls in Their Summer Clothes" the latest song on the charts right now from Bruce and the E Street Band

Very cool. I especially like the above picture, because it gives a good side shot of this jump suit. There is also another shot that has a good portrait of rhythm guitarist John Wilerson in the background. Ya know, I think its cool when stuff like this comes out, although. I don't really thin k these pictures are that extrodinary. While I would say that they are much better and clearer then most taken by "official" Elvis photogapher Ed Bonja, whose photos of the king in the 70s were often blurry and out of focus....I'd have to say that I have still seen better. Actually, a couple years ago, a friend and I came across an album of unpublished concert photos of Elvis in an antique store in Depot Town, Ypsilanti. This was a FANTASTIC collection of never-before-seen pictures of Elvis on stage, wearing a lot of rare jumpuits that rarely have been photographed.

"Standing in the Shadows of Motown" chronicles the stories of the Funk Brothers...Motown's house musicians. As the liner notes tell, they sold more #1 records than the Beatles the Stones and the Beach boys combined!!!!! They were also the influene of the Beatles & the Stones! Great movie, interviews with the musicians and a concert by the musicians with new vocals by Bootsie Collins, Joan Osbourne, Gerald Levert, Chaka Kahn and others!!! Brilliant! My favorite movie of all time!

Whoa!!! You couldn't be more correct. I totally forgot about those. Must be too early in the morning to get my mojo working!! I suppose you could also include "Woodstock" on that list.
Now that I'm awake, I just remembered how much I enjoyed a recently unearthed documentary about a musical train trip that through Canada in the 60s titled "Festival Express" which featured the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Buddy Guy and the Flying Burrito Bros. If you like any of those bands its worth a look because they were all in their prime.
Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. . . you certainly are a deep well of musical knowledge for being so young! Are there any other "students of rock/pop music" in your family? I'm always impressed by how much you know. You give me hope for the next generation of music fans.
