Friday, August 24th, 2007A rant and a rave
Thursday, August 16th, 2007I couldn’t decide which I should do first, so I’m going alphabetically and starting with the rant first.
RANT: I’ve gone to Beaner’s 2x this month and not been given the correct drink. The problem is that they’re not like other coffee chains where the menu item is what they call out to the barista, so I have no idea if what they are giving me is what I ordered until I taste it. Carmel shouldn’t taste like mocha. As much as I love Beaner’s, I’m giving it one more shot this summer and then finding some other place. Coffee is one thing I don’t mess with!
RAVE: I had my first non-dealership, non-self oil change today at Victory Lanes. Wow! It’s funny to say this, but I felt like a princess! They didn’t pamper me or anything silly, but called me by my first name (love it, hate being call Ms. or Mrs.), showed me everything and explained everything to me. They were so nice – and it certainly was cheaper even without the $15 rebate.
No more theater! :(
Wednesday, August 15th, 2007I’m certainly not what people would call a “movie buff”; I enjoy seeing a movie every once in awhile but typically find them hard to fit into my schedule. This summer, though, we’ve finally been able to see a lot of movies and have really come to love this time together – especially since the theater is so close.
Then I read this article and cannot believe how dissapointed I am. We saw a movie last weekend and I was even thinking about researching Regal theaters to get more info on some of their incentives. So much for that. The Frenchtown Square theater doesn’t even show up on www.moviefone.com anymore. Someone said there’s another theater, but according to moviefone, our only options are Taylor and Southgate. To be honest, I’m not thrilled about going to the same movie theater where I teach. I like having a little private space here in Monroe but it seems like more and more we’re needing to leave Monroe for some basic things. This is just one more thing to add to that list.
I’m sad.
