Not from around here

Driving home tonight, I saw a car run a red light immediately in front of a cop.  They didn’t get pulled over. But me? I got pulled over within 4 months of living here for a tail light (one of three or four my car has) that had been out a matter of days. If that had been me running the Nadeau light I totally would have been pulled over. Guess I’m not lucky!

We had an absolutely amazing brunch today at the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor. I seriously would drive there every weekend if I could.

One of my best friends, who I know from college, was in town with her family – also U of M alumni. Thankfully we won the game and were in good spirits. Not being from Michigan, they asked us quite a few questions about Monroe that we found interesting in the course of our very random conversation:

1.) Where do you shop for groceries? Kroger? Meijer? I was impressed that though they don’t have either of these in the states where they live, they remembered.

2.) Is there a Whole Foods? I was so sad to say no, that the closest is in Ann Arbor and that Toledo doesn’t even have one. But we have that new Ciolino’s place that I’m digging….

3.) Where is it, exactly? I tried to explain where Monroe was in relationship to Ann Arbor; didn’t work so well. 20 minutes south of the airport was better.

4.) Can you bike to work? I laughed and said no. I wish! I do, however, have 2 bikes in the garage that I have not used since we moved in.

Anyway, it was nice to share our Monroe thoughts.
