Why it’s good to live here for shopping, part II

When the Nintendo Wii came out, my friends in Boston waited in line overnight. I walked into the store the day after Thanksgiving and bought one on the biggest shopping day of the year at the Frenchtown mall. This past week/weekend the new iPod nanos came out – you know, the even smaller one with the even larger screen and larger memory. Hubby, though he has an original shuffle and a generation I nano, wanted a new one. He doubted we could find one but the miracles of Monroe ensured that Target had many. Of course he’s now rubbing it in my face.

It’s really amazing how helpful a smaller consumer base is in purchasing recent items. Same thing with the iPhone – AT&T had them, there was a line of 1 person, and the next day they still had them. Lucky us!
