My husband went out to play poker last night and came home with a “small world” story. There weren’t enough people to play poker so they just hung out and eventually went to some downtown bar (he described it as, a name with lots of numbers in it). Anyway, someone there figured out he was my husband based on this blog! What a small world. So, HI SARA!

Friday, December 28th, 2007GET OFF THE PHONE AND PARK ALREADY!
Wednesday, December 26th, 2007I’m a mad-woman, I know. But I went shopping today.
My tactics are simple: go alone. Bring everything you need. Do not get a shopping cart. Do not get more than you can carry. Only buy sale items or stuff for Husband’s upcoming birthday. NO RETURNS. Park wherever new car won’t get hit. Avoid discussions with people and areas of tension. Easy enough.
Everything was going fine until I went to Starbucks in Taylor. In the holiday spirit, I give a guy room to back out; the jerk behind me speeds around, almost hitting the backing out car AND the semi cruising down the road. Jerk. Then I hit the mall here. I waited for a spot only to discover a lady on her cell phone was oblivious to my waiting. I could have snuck in, I guess, to MY spot I had been waiting for long before she cruised up, but it wasn’t worth the fight even though there were literally no other parking spots. I move on to lose another spot to ANOTHER driver on HER PHONE that has NO IDEA cars are around her. For the third and final spot, I put on my hazards and literally parked my car for a few minutes. Shesh.
I always thought people driving and talking were bad; I would fully support a no talking on your cell phone without a hands-free device law, particularly in parking lots!
