bathrooms and neighbors

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

We’re completely updating our master bathroom. Slate tiles, pedastal sink, etc. It’ll be nice; for now,  it’s a crazy mess. I’d take pictures but of course the camera is dead, which has also altered the progress of several other posts I have in mind.

I should add that we have possibly the best neighbors on the planet, though.

PS - I bought the baggus and love ‘em. Too bad I forgot them when I went shopping for a few things today. Ask me how guilty I felt!

Smart cars

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

The car is about a month old now (don’t ask me how many miles already because really it is insane) and tonight I realized it really is smarter than me.

Being a snotty “garage car”, it’s never really had snow pile up on it. When I left Eastern tonight, there was snow. I’m lazy, so I used the wipers (front and rear, wheee!) to get the snow off but then the darn stuff was freezing. So I figured this was a good time to use the defroster I had read so much about. With one button, you can defrost windows! De-ice mirrors! Warm up washer fluid! Save the world from cold! Amazing, really.

When I pressed the snowflake button, I saw the darn light blink and turn off. I try it again. And again. CRAP! How is the new car not working already? How does the car think it’s smarter than me already? I mean, it’s true, but how does it know after just a month?

Ah yes. Because snowflakes mean you want it COLD INSIDE. My car knows I am not that dumb. Thankfully because apparently I didn’t realize that was the A/C button and not the defrost button. Duh!

water police

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

EVERYONE at work asked me if I had showered today - they’d obviously heard about the water restrictions.

 I said no. :)

(I showered last night, but shhhh, don’t tell the water police. It was quick, I promise!)
