My luck

Monday, January 21st, 2008

When I meet up with friends to grade papers or just have a nice lunch out, I ususally am the one who ends up driving up to their neck of the woods. But today Andrea offered to come down to Monroe to our Panera to grade papers there.

What ends up happening? The water emergency shutting down restaurants, of course! That’s my luck, isn’t it? :)

Be careful with your water!

The eco movement in Monroe

I’ve been spending a bit more time in my old stomping ground of Ann Arbor lately and have come to realize that there’s a lot of things you can do there that might get you 2nd/3rd/100th odd looks here. For example, Whole Foods. It’s not abnormal to go there and see people who bring their own bags – no plastic or paper there! I’m wondering if I could start that movement here. I really hate how my local Kroger bags everything.in.it’s.own.bag. Like, seriously. They do. My MILK was in a bag. Necessary? Absolutely not.

So what if I got these bags and used ‘em here? Think they’d call me “that tree hugger girl”? But they’re so cute AND environmentally friendly!
