Wii fit

Monday, June 9th, 2008

We are addicted to our Wii Fit. I read an article about a man who did an experiment: 30-45 min. of Wii Fit a day for 7 weeks. He lost nearly 11 lbs! I guess he said he didn’t change his eating habits intentionally, but spending so much time on Wii Fit made him more conscious of his eating. Check out the before and after pictures. Some are really amazing.

I don’t have any lofty goals of 11 lbs in 7 weeks. Not yet, anyway. I’m starting with 2 lbs in 2 week – totally healthy and reasonable. Here’s to good luck! Anyone else adore their Wii Fit? I’d love to hear stories!

Pending storm

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

The weather has dictated our day; we had to run out to Radio Shack before 5 not because the mall closed, but because it was supposed to rain.

At 5:45 it hadn’t rained yet, but this is what it looked like to the north of our home:

Another perspective:

Yet to the west, this is what we saw:

Poor Henry was beside himself when he heard the first clap of thunder. The little guy didn’t know what was coming and now he’s pacing the house while Annie sleeps contently in the A/C. It’s raining now, and the crazy cloud photography reminded me of advice our insurance agent had given us eons ago: take pictures of all the things in your home in case of an emergency since it’s unlikely you’ll remember EVERYTHING you owned. I guess dark gray/almost black clouds reminded me to do that, eh.

Good luck weathering the storm!

wii fit

Though we bought our Wii in Monroe the first year it came out AND we found the LAST MARIO KART IN THE CITY (we know this because we went to every store that sold them, literally), we had a hard time finding a local Wii fit. A friend, however, put us on the waitlist in Ypsilanti and we got one yesterday. So fun (thought a bit alarming in terms of the numbers lol).
