MIA

Sorry I’ve been MIA. It seems the beginning of school always finds me lost. We are house hunting, both sadly and happily. Like I’ve said before, Ryan commutes 55 miles each way to work and I’m at 25. We’re hoping to move closer to save on time and gas. That being said, if you’ve ever been to www.zillow.com to look up your house value, I got an email this morning sayin the last 30 days it is estimated our curren home’s value has gone down $2000; if you look at the history of it over the past 10 years, that means it’s now like $30k less valuable than it’s highest point. Wowza.

Laptop heaven

Since I’m now officially a phd student, I figured it was time to upgrade our laptop. The desktop died weeks ago and Ryan has been working 65+ hours a week, so the old laptop became our main computer and showed us its fading colors. I love our new one and it’s sure to make phd life a bit easier and more portable.

Busy bees

September is a crazy month - school starts both at the k-12 level and collegiate level. The first few weeks are always filled with chaos and vain attempts to form structure. I’ve been swamped this year and have about 35 kids in each section which means more of everything. On top of work I started my phd work this term, am presenting at my first state wide conference, am taking two weekend trips this month alone, and eddie began puppy classes. He is, of course, as cute and fun as ever. :)
