In reference to Al Gore -
“He’s gotten fat. Fat and lazy,” said one person.
“It’s because he’s holding in all of his methane gas,” said another.

I didn’t think anything got much lefter than Mencken. All kidding aside, I’m not sure how to take that comment.
Did you mean weeping because I took the time to post such nonsense? Or was it because that seemingly represents the caliber of conversation in the newsroom? (“Seemingly” because I can assure you, most of us take our jobs very, very seriously.)
Oh, you must have meant weeping with joy – as a result of the scathing wit and abillity to find humor in even the dryest of topics.
Whatever. Either way, I have to go now; it’s my scheduled time to wink at some homely girl and take a bath with Millard Fillmore.
