Bring K-Zoo promise to Monroe

I’ve been exposed to the education system in Monroe County for just a short time, but I know one thing- the area could benefit from a program similar to the Kalamazoo Promise.

Do you think this area could benefit?

Here are a couple of links about the success of the Promise:

Danielle:

I love the idea of having a Monroe Promise. I lived in Kalamazoo when the schools first announced that decision. It has already started to pay some huge dividends for KPS, as well as boosting enrollment at my alma mater Western Michigan University.
The whole idea seems to be pushing that area in the right direction: making kids look at higher education.
The only problem here is, do we have a multi-millionaire to be the beneficiary of a program here?

Adam,

I think Monroe could find the funding through corporate sponsors like some of the other districts are doing. I’m sure there is a way the area can come up with money.
If nothing else, promoting postsecondary education should be a top priority for all districts.
By the way, boooo Western, Go Central!!!!!!
