Nothing found at quarry

MONROE TOWNSHIP — Rumors that have been swirling about something significant being found at the old France Stone Quarry at S. Dixie Hwy. and Dunbar Rd. are not true, authorities said.
Crowds of onlookers and media have gathered along LaPlaisance Rd., where divers were wrapping up their search of the quarry. Helicopters also have been hovering in the area.
Capt. Maryanne Ortman of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said there was nothing found related to the case of missing 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan. She said she has heard rumors about the case, but nothing has been substantiated.
Earlier, divers searched the quarry behind the Holiday Inn off N. Dixie Hwy. and did not find anything connected to the case.
