Picnic food from the 1810 era
How would you like to see this table arrangement at your family picnic this summer?
That’s how the refreshments were served Friday night to the historical staff and volunteers who are setting up for the Militia Muster Days at Navarre-Anderson Trading Post.
It may seem fancy, but remember: nobody had paper plates in those days! (Ignore the paper napkins.)
And about that punch: there’s vinegar in the recipe. But it is pretty good.
