Tea Parties Around The Country

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

coopertp2While the liberal press made note of some of the small turnouts around the country for the basically unorganized, unscripted protests of new Washington spending, they fail to see the point.  They forget the actual size of the original Boston Tea Party, where a small fistful of dedicated patriots made one small act symbolic for the feelings of a nation on its way to being born.

The Sons of Liberty were not numbered by the thousands, but by the tens, maybe if you stretch it, by the hundreds around the colonies.  So when you hear of the small turnouts, think back in perspective, and realize its not the numbers, but the growing sentiments around the nation today that are key.  These weren’t people looking for handouts like other bigger demonstrations in recent memory, all they want is the chance to stand on their own two feet, to live their lives like they were promised by right of birth,  and to make their own fortunes without them being plundered by politicians of any party affiliation.

Here at home, Lansing, Michigan.  Across the country they gathered:

Cleveland, OH

Houston, and Austin, TX

Denver, Colorado

San Diego, CA

Sacramento, CA

Atlanta, GA

Tampa Bay, and Orlando, FLA

Hartford, CT

Shelby, Alabama

Chicago, IL

Portland, Nashville, Oklahoma City, North Carolina,  and many more.

Here are some of my favorite pics that were found online this morning.  You won’t find anyone asking to pay their bills, find them better jobs or sitting on their tails while the people pay their way.

From around the country, there was one I saw earlier, but could not find again, where the sign read “Obama in Theif” for stealing the next generation(s)’ future.

First the Coal Plants, Now the Guns

Friday, February 27th, 2009

As if wasn’t bad enough that Eric Holder said there will be restrictions on gun sales based on what is going on along the Mexican border these days, now comes another “backdoor” attack on gun ownership rights.  This isn’t something new for Obama, and it looks like it might be starting in Illinois first.

During the election campaign it was quite clear from Joe Biden his disgust for the one form of energy production that we know works, and that is coal produced electricity.  If you remember right, Obama said you can build all the coal plants you want, but with this cap and trade philosophy,  you will go bankrupt trying.

The same sneaky way they seem to be doing everything right now, also applies to the Second Amendment and our gun rights.  A proposal has been made that every gun own must carry a 1 million dollar insurance policy on their firearms.

What to See Where the Stimulus is Going?

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Got this in an email this morning, now ask yourself this, where is all the money going that the state would have spent on these projects itself?

http://www.stimuluswatch.org/project/by_state/MI

What’s Detroit get?  Among other things that aren’t so wasteful, you get these gems…

Pervention programs dealing with nuitrition education, obesity and other childhood diseases Detroit MI 2 $400,000 CDBG -29

Infectious disease outreach Detroit MI 2 $350,000 CDBG -33

 aka:  STD’s

Remote meter reading Detroit MI 2 $1,250,000 Energy -16

 (already in place?)

Then they plan on using 88 million to change over the lightbulbs on the street lights…….

Not that I would want anything from this bill, but I noticed Monroe is not on the list.

A Lansing Tea Party: The Seeds of Revolution

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

This lil’ tea party was inspired by an on air personality Rick Santelli, on of all stations CNBC.

The movement is picking up steam, when you google, you find lots of blog sites posting and commenting.

I heard about it this morning on the Frank Beckman show on WJR.  One of the grass roots organizers (no, not ACORN) called in with some information about Tea Party Rally tomorrow at Noon on the steps of the Capitol in Lansing.

Who knows, maybe some good can come from Lansing these days,  maybe the message of the common sense folk can be heard all the way to the District of Columbia.  Did you hear how much President Obama wants for his budget this year?  On top of their pet spending projects?  On top of the failed bailouts?

What could be the governments biggest fear this year, the the people rise up and say no to taxes, or that the Chinese say no to anymore loans?

Quick Hits from Monday

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

As I take a break from packing for my trip to the Land of Lincoln, or Land of Corruption.  Here are some quick thoughts from the news yesterday and some additional thoughts.

Now that the spending bill has been passed, watch for the end of the “Doom and Gloom” rhetoric for a while.  Everything is all better know, until the next stimulus bill reaches the floor of the House.  The second one, probably will focus more on jobs and cuts, vs the pet project that was signed.

For all the stomping, the market seems smarter than the President’s inner circle, it tanked again yesterday after the signing of the bill into law.

Obama needs to quit spinning history,  Roosevelt was a terrible economic leader, but a great war time leader.  World War II was the only thing that got the people back to work and got us out of the Great Depression.  Since he so fond of comparing these two times in our history, he should get it right.

JFK and Ike did lead us out of hard economic times, but their plans were based on tax cuts, not frivolous spending projects.

In two years the Republicans will gain back control of the congress because of the passage of this bill.  Even though the president will have two more years, they will be able to block any more garbage like what was just signed into law.

In the meantime, watch your retirement accounts, listen to the rhetoric, and pull out before they are seized by the fed.  Obama wants us to be more European, its what they have done there.

The jobs he promises are not in proven fields, wind, solar and green tech.  These are not jobs, but gearing us toward their perfect idea of utopia.  The jobs don’t exist, won’t exist for those losing their auto jobs.

Watch the price of oil rise again, this administration and congress will do nothing about producing power that already exists to help out in our own wallets.  They have a bigger agenda, damn the costs for the people on “mainstreet”.  Remember that campaign promise when they won’t even consider drilling for oil, an energy solutions that already exists now.

Rham Emmanuel, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Ried and President Obama think they know what is best for the American people.  It reminds me of Alexander Hamilton and his thoughts on the common masses.

Ok, in three weeks its been all about spending, making the government even bigger.  Where is the line by line process the President promised about cutting federal spending and removing dead agencies?

Why an Euro model, give me one good example of socialism working across the Atlantic.  We aren’t Sweden, or even England.  We already fought one war against unfair taxes, and another to protect the nation from it happening again.

General Motors and Chrysler should tell the govt to stick it.  Forget the brow beating, the government control and the needless waste of money in their vision of the auto world.  File for bankruptcy, restructure and come back stronger than ever.  This congress, this president will never allow the cuts to be made that are necessary.  Even though they hurt the workers at every turn with emission standards and CART reforms,  they still need the unions to get elected.  Iacocca where are you now?  Could you actually see Henry Ford bending over to appease California standards?  Heck no, ol’ Henry would say this is the car I build, its available in black, buy it or don’t.  How long would CA go without new cars being available in their state?!

Stabenow, Rogers on WJR

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Two things from Debbie Stabenow on WJR this morning.

On the Paul W. show, she admitted not reading the so called stimulus bill.  So she has no clue what she actually voted for.

Second thing, she is now saying that the “Fairness doctrine is not her issue”  and will have nothing to do with it.  Its a complete turnaround from her statements just a few weeks ago.  Perhaps because of the light shined on the fact that her husband would directly profit from the act being passed.

Lets see how she votes if it comes up.

I saw the representative from the Lansing district speak in front of the house while the debate raged on in the house before the passage of the so called stimulus bill.  Between that and hearing him speak on WJR this morning,  I am becoming more impressed with Mike Rogers.  He speaks plain and to the point.

Six of Obama’s campaign promises were broken during the passage of the bill.

Doctors and patients will lose the ability to choose their procedures, and it will be come a cost cutting/effective procedure.  With seniors being refused treatment based on life longevity and cost.

An inadvertant attack on the 2nd Amendment, through outrageous taxes on ammunition.

30 Million for Pelosi’s “mouse” project. Plus more frivolous spending for pet projects that do nothing for getting people back to work.

Obama best thing to happen since he took office

Obama has had a good first 3 weeks as President.

He got 4 people to pay their back taxes.

Emanuel:Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

In a YouTube video just making the waves now, White House Cheif of Staff, Rahm Emanuel speaks to the Obama administration’s true agenda.  Keep the Doom and Gloom speaches going, terrify the people and sneak all the left wing liberal policies into law.

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste, and what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you didn’t think you could do before.”

Translation;  all the stuff we have been wanting to do for years, but the people wouldn’t stand for, we can now do because are  in “catastrophic” times.  Ignore things that could actually help the economy like bringing  jobs, cutting  taxes and solving the root of our economic troubles, credit and housing.

Watch Emanuel and the true socialist agenda here on vid.
