The small tea parties that started a few months ago have grown by leaps and bounds and will reach record numbers on April 15th. A lot of this has been ignored in the media, although some have been diligent in their reporting on the grass roots demonstration over government spending and new tax proposals.
This isn’t a democratic vs republican thing, its people tired of paying their fair share, and their brother’s too. Its about busting your hump to provide a living for your family, while congress fails to read bills before they are sent to be a law, that takes more money out of your pocket. It might not be in the form of an income tax, it could be a tobacco tax, beer tax, gas tax, cap and trade tax or simply a tea tax. Tax is tax, you cannot sugar coat it, it takes money out of your pocket, then goes through the government, where they put it in somebody else’s pocket.
Where to go in Michigan, there isn’t just one to go to either and there will be one right here in Monroe at St. Mary’s Park.

Here are some comments from around the country taken from a few sites I found. This is a real underground/grass roots movement. There were literally too many sites to post all the links. The left in the media just do not want you to know about it……….. You won’t see a million at a single party (more than likely), but you will see millions from across the country gettting together to have their voices heard.

Bet you won’t see it in the Monroe Paper, I saw a yard sign and went from there. We were going to the one In Toledo. But THANK GOODNESS we are having one here
Susan sounds silly. Thank Goodness? This is nothing more than a waste. You are taking more money out of your pocket to buy the tea than any new tax will do.
Also you are polluting the river by tossing the tea into it.
Bob, do not take the tea thing literally, its a symbol thing. One where Americans stand up to what is wrong vs right and fair. Besides if folks did dump tea into the Raisin, what’s five bucks compared to your property taxes going up (which they did), new park fees (which happend) new tobacco tax (which it did), new fees for businesses and proposed new fuel taxes by the governor.
It really is time to take a stand, get informed and either let life pass you bye, or take an active part in it.
I went to a fish dinner tonight, it being Good Friday and all, even though according to President Obama, we are no longer a Christian nation. There was a lot of support for the Tea Party on the 15th, the folks were talking about it before I even walked into the door. Contrary to what the paper might think, politicans think or what the media thinks, people of all party ties are tired of taxes and oveall waste in govt. spending and plan on attending.
