Now that it appears that a version of the Health Care Bill will come out of California Rep. Henry Waxman’s committee, the one that Dingel presided over until he was ousted by Pelosi in favor of Waxman. The August recess has begun and our Congressional members are heading home to talk to the people. They have been encouraged by President Obama to hold town hall meetings to go over details of the bill, trying to gain favor for it.
This is exactly what will kill this bill; not the Republicans, nor conservative Blue Dog Dems, not even the insurance industry, but it will be the people who drive the final blow against it. You have seen it already at the meetings being held early during the recess. Spector got an earful, and his meeting was not the only one.
The people, the same ones that Obama talked about in San Francisco before the election, but then we were only gun toting, bible hugging nuts. This time its the elderly who want to know why they are destroying medicaid and medicare. Why their benefits are going to be taxed after Obama laughed McCain out of the room for even suggesting it? The parents that are worried whether they will get the care they need for their infants, or will it take months before they get their needed treatments.
Not that we can politically change their minds, but we have a chance to make Debbie Stabenow and John Dingell to seriously think about their chances of re-election their next time out.
You can voice your opinions to John Dingell up in Romulus. He has been whipped worse than the family pig, by his own party. Its a shame too, once upon a time Dingell could have described as the first Blue Dog, I voted for him many years in a row, and respected his vision on gun rights, but no longer.

Stabbenow would not be a shocker, she has followed the party line to a “T”. You can have your chance to ask her questions in Monroe very soon.
