Obama’s Unawareness Problems

The Audacity of Unawareness

April 15th, 2009 5:03 pm Barack Obama, through his spokesman, claimed today that he was unaware of the tax day tea parties. Granted, the MSM has done a good job in suppressing any sort of coverage ahead of time (and the little coverage they did provide was derisive at best)… but how out of touch is the Community Organizer in Chief, really?

This much.

- He was unaware that he was attending a church (for 20 years) with a racist pastor who hates America .

- He was unaware that he was family friends with, and started his political career in the living room of, a domestic terrorist.

- He was unaware that he had invested in two speculative companies backed by some of his top donors right after taking office in 2005.

- He was unaware that his own aunt was living in the US illegally.

- He was unaware that his own brother lives on pennies a day in a hut in Kenya .

- He was unaware of the AIG bonuses that he and his administration approved and signed into a bill.

- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Commerce was under investigation in a bribery scandal.

- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services was a tax cheat.

- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of the Treasury was a tax cheat.

- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be the U.S. Trade Representative was a tax cheat.

- He was unaware that the woman he nominated to be his Chief Performance Officer was a tax cheat.

- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be #2 at the Environmental Protection Agency was under investigation for mismanaging $25 million in EPA grants.

Things that make you go hmmm….

Monday, June 8th, 2009

It was a busy weekend around here, but picked up bits and pieces from the news so here are some thoughts on what was going on.

The president thinks its a good idea for Iran to have nuclear power.  Really? (A)  Seriously what does go through his mine during these decisions?

(B)  If its so good for them to have it, why are we wasting our time with wind mills that don’t work?

Obama wants Hamas involved with the “Palestine Solution”.  That’s a win win for all sides.

Is there anyone else who paid attention during history class who sees Obama as a modern day Neville Chamberlain?  Be careful not to tick off our enemies, but stab our friends in their backs.  Guess that would make Israel the modern day Czechoslovachia, and the settlements today’s version of  the Sudetenland.

Guess the lil’ escape to China did not take the heat of Nancy Pelosi, she is still going down for her statements about the CIA.

More Pelosi, guess who is polling higher in popularity than her?  The answer would be…..Dick Cheney.

My new John Deere says you can’t put more than 10% ethenol in its tank, sorry Iowa.

More on ethenol, have you seen the commercials where they add nitrogen cleaners to the gasoline to protect your engines from poor grade fuels?  ITS BECAUSE OF THE ETHENOL FOLKS.

The 25% add tax.  Its one of those sneaky taxes you do not see, but its already been figured into the price of an item.  Its a national sales tax to make us pay for national health care, for an example  you buy a 24+K car, before you even add in all the state sales taxes, registration fees, license fees, the new price for that car is now over $30,000.  Then the state gets to tax you at the 30 grand price.

Its bad enough that they tax you on the sticker price now, not what you actually paid for the vehicle.

Joe Biden says we need to ramp up the spending from the stimulus bill.  They already promised us that the unemployment numbers would not go above 8% if the bill was passed.  So they voted without reading, signed in a hurry, and now unemployment is already at 9.4% nationally, and over 12% here in Michigan.

The government guy running GM is in his early 30’s and basically got the job because he is a party hack.  Never worked a day in his life unless you could running Hillary’s campaign into the ground and jumping over to Obama’s side when her ship was sinking.  Never mind that he has absolutely no car experience,  he has no business training either.  GREAT CHOICE.

Seven more auto plants are closing in Michigan.  Look you might not be able to get anything changed politically until the 2010 elections, but you can send a message to White House now, buy a FORD.

One of the architects of the bank bailout, Ben Bernake says we cannot keep up deficit spending without ruining our economy.  Wonder if the President heard that while touring Europe this weekend for the D-Day memorials.

Forget Pelosi for a sec, Biden does it again

Monday, May 18th, 2009

I heard somewhere this weekend that Nancy Pelosi was the “gift that just keeps on giving”.  I thought we already have the Vice-President Joe Biden with that crown, and then the next day almost on cue good ol’ Joe does it again. If I believed in conspiracy theories, I would say Obama told Biden to provide the media with his latest blunder in order to take some of the heat off of Pelosi.

I think its more of Biden wanting to impress people when he says these incredibly stupid things, his latest being a doozy that will cost American tax payers millions of dollars.  He told people who attended the annual Gridiron Dinner in DC where the Vice Presidential Secret Bunker is located.  While the President would be ushered to Air Force One in case of an emergency, the VP would go underground during such an event.

Now that the blabbering VP has struck again, it will cost Americans millions to replace the bunker with a new secure facility.  The scary thing about all of this leads back to the President himself.  Because of his overall lack of experience in government, Obama picked Biden for the backup job because he was the best and brightest that the Democrats had in the area of foreign affairs.  Seriously?  They had no one better in that field of “expertise”.

Biden and the Bunker

Biden and the Bunker2

Biden might be able to spell “potato”, but he makes Dan Quayle look like a genius!

From Wednesday’s News

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

President Obama flip flops on releasing  so called torture pictures.  The reasoning given had to do with security of US soldiers,  which completely contradicts the statements given when memo’s were released.

And the ACLU isn’t very happy with the President over this.  They should check their name out a little closer,  it starts with “American” , its not the Detainees Civil Liberties Union.  And these people do not qualify as prisoners of war, they should be lucky, back in the day they would fit the definition of spies.

When big banks repay their stimulus loans, instead of paying off the debt created in the first place, that money will go to smaller banks in need.  Which will increase the debt owed by the younger generations who will be paying for this folly. Remember the interest.  What happened to the philosophy “they were too big to fail”????  You would think smaller banks should fail if they were unwise enough to indulge in the sub-prime loan market.  It sounds more like a ploy to get more government control throughout the entire banking system.

Another crisis, another cause.  National Health Care Reform, according to the President, it has to happen now, before congress goes on summer recess in August.

Three weeks ago, Michigan’s John Conyers said that ACORN should be investigated.  Now, voter fraud and embezzlement just are not big enough reasons to look into this corrupt organization.

Wind turbines produced 1/6th of 1 percent last year, the President wants to double that next year…..wooo hooo.

More states are joining the 10th Amendment movement in re-establishing state’s rights, today Minnesota has joined Montana, Texas, Utah and a host of others.

An EPA document came out today in congressional session, saying C02 is not a pollutant.  Was it not just two weeks ago that the EPA claimed that it is?  The document was dismissed because it was written by a “Bush” hack in the EPA.  The same person who was appointed by President Clinton and worked 6 yrs during his administration, before serving in the same post under President Bush.  Whom, if he was such a hack, was promoted four times.  Remember if you exhale, that is CO2.

Geithner announced today plans on putting salary and compensation limits on banks and industries not involved/receiving  government bailout funding.

The guy running the Service Employees International Union, the same organization pushing for “card check” and eliminating the secret ballot, his brother is the former ACORN CEO who got caught embezzling money from that organization.  His fine was paid by another organization which funnels money from folks like George Sorus.

Congresswoman of Minnesota, Michelle Bachman had an amendment passed in committee where an organization under indictment or convicted of voter fraud should not receive government funding.  Only to have the chairman BARNEY FRANK have it removed.

ACORN could possible receive 8 billion from the stimulus bill, after having it funneled through shell organizations.

The ACORN 8 has called for its national members to quit paying dues until there is an investigation of where government funds have gone.

Who wants national health care besides the President, how about Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Etna, along with the union SEIU.  The big insurance companies give a legitimate face to the pushing of the bill, what they gain is the elimination of the smaller ins. companies.

Congressional hearings have started in the so called torture tactics used in questioning terrorists.  Still Nancy Pelosi hides the fact that she knew all about it.

Remember the campaign promise about not taxing folks under the 250 grand earning line, now its 235K.

How to pay for national health care?  Now they are talking about a tax on soda and other items that may lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Homeland Security after you?

This goes with what I mentioned yesterday about a recent statement coming out of the Homeland Security office.

Tea Party Response, to a response

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Many folks who follow the Monroe Blogosphere are familiar with JL’s liberal blog,  Laissez-faire.  He left an interesting comment this morning, and although we differ ideologically, his thoughts are always well thought out.  They just come with a different slant or perspective than my own. Unlike many,  he does not get involved with the sniping, but simply states his points and moves to the next subject.  Something in which I can respect, so this morning I will counterpoint, his points and move on.

“and the most relevant slogans:

“Audit the FED” and “Inflation is a tax”

obama gave us a measly tax cut just like bush…but it’s all a farce.   and the only way to make the connection between massive government spending and taxation is to understand how inflation (expanding the money supply) is a tax.  otherwise the people at the tea parties just look like a bunch of republicans who are angry that a democrat won the election, because they sure were quiet for the last 8 years of enormous deficit spending and government expansion.  though i know there will be a lot of consistent anti-tax libertarians/conservatives out there.”

I think one slogan that also fits these times involves several that have been held up by children during these events, “Quit stealing my future.”  For its not just those in the present who will be paying for these new spend and tax measures, but generations to come.  Its a different philosophy than the democrats of had in the past where it used to be tax and spend.  The government is spending before the taxes are even collected this go around.

Definitely audit the FED, for it truly has grown into what Nugent calls, “Fedzilla”, perpetuating the Nanny State.   Its one of the reasons I applaud Rick Perry, the governor of Texas.  They have introduced legislation in TX, reaffirming their State’s rights under the 10th Amendment.  Basically put, if its not mentioned in the Constitution, the federal government cannot do it.

Inflation as a tax, absolutely right JL.  Bush with the TARP bailouts, and the same philosophy followed and increased under Obama.  In the first 90 days, Obama will have spent more money than every president from Washington to Bush II.  The Chinese haven’t bought the debt yet, so they are printing more money as speak, or type.

The difference between the Bush tax cuts set to expire next year, and the President’s is pretty easy to follow.  On one hand they both gave us a few dollars back for the wallet to get slightly fatter, but Obama has devised the means to get that back, and in fact lots more heading back to DC in forms of backdoor taxes.  Cap and trade, 200% increase in loose tobacco tax,  federal fuel tax, proposed ammo tax, carbon tax(similar to C&T)….

People have to remember this philosophy expressed by the WH Chief of Staff, never let a good crisis go to waste.  While the factors that caused this train wreck, the housing market and higher fuel cost, goes ignored, the President is sliding in every left wing agenda legislation that he can.  This morning they are announcing that the foreclosures on homes is starting in full force,  and what happend to the campaign promise of exploring every fuel source available here at home?  Not only does solar not work, nor ethanol and wind, but the long term costs are greater than what people spend already on energy.

Its true republicans are angry, and again you are right about the last 8 years of spending done by Washington, but again, its nothing compared to the last 90 days.  Its more likely folks in the party are upset that Pelosi has the “Shut up, we won philosophy” when it comes to open debate and allowing amendments.  I know,  its happend before under republican rule in the house and senate, but never to this extreme.  And, it doesn’t come close to the CHANGE that was spouted and promised by Obama.

These events, no matter the perception portrayed by the media, are simply not republican events.  Skip the fact that Fox will be at several today, they are simply the only media organization bothering to report on this truly grass roots movement.  Regular folks started this phenomina,  people tired of being taxed for an agenda, any agenda.

Look at the success of Ron Paul, also from Texas, during the last election.  Despite coming off as a loon at times in his presentation, the man had some really good ideas.  His message just got lost in his presentation, but it was a true grass roots movement.  I am not entirely sure what label has been given him by others, but if its a word, I would call him a Constitutionalist.  He knows the words that he took an oath to defend.  That more than anything, perhaps even the taxes, that will draw people from sides together to have their voices heard today.

I am glad you wrote today JL, thanks.

Tea Parties Happening Despite Lack of Media Attention

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Around the country Wednesday morning thousands of Americans will be getting ready to attend a “Tea Party” for the first time.  A lot of folks I know,  had no idea what this grassroots movement was all about until I mentioned I will be attending Monroe’s tomorrow evening.  I told them what it was all about, and where they could go for a gathering in their area.

In an effort to blunt the message, President Obama came out with one of his feel good speeches Tuesday afternoon.  In addition, the Department of Homeland Security says to watch out for these right wing extremists.  Its non-partisan Mr. President, both left and right, joining together for a return to an old philosophy of keeping the government’s hands out of the people’s pockets.  An American ideal of saying we can stand on our own two feet without Big Brother’s help.  In the same “ document ”, the DHS warns that returning veterans are prime recruits for these far right folks, THEY SENT THIS TO COUNTRY’S POLICE FORCES.  Why would they not speak  out for guaranteed freedoms under the Constitution of which they fought to protect.

I just heard the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry on the television saying there will be 46 tea parties happening in the state on Wednesday and he expects tens to hundreds of thousands to attend.  As I posted a while back, there might not be a million attending any one singular event, but add them all up, and I would be willing to bet there will be more attending than any march ever held in Washington D.C.

Some slogans I saw earlier on Tuesday:

T.E.A.  stands for Taxed Enough Already

After all the Stimulus, all I have left is CHANGE in my pocket

I will keep my guns and bibles, you keep the CHANGE

There are lots more, and hopefully some good ones will be at St Mary’s Park Wednesday evening at 5 pm for everyone to read at Monroe’s own Tax Day Tea Party.

Its OK to be the Party of NO

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

After trying to get ideas introduced in the first couple of months into the President’s first (and only) term in office, only to be told, “We won, deal with it”.  Saying no, really doesn’t sound like such a bad idea,  in fact it is a word I wish Specter, Snow and the other Senator from Maine would learn how to use.  After all, they are to blame just as much as those Democrats who voted for the bill that had the AIG clause in it.  Remember, THE ONE NOBODY READ?

What else should the word be applied too?

No to government/treasury take overs of banks that did not receive, or request any bailout funds.

No to a National Healthcare system that takes the choices away from the seniors and doctors, and allows a board to choose if the procedure/treatment is fiscally sounds based on the patients age and condition.

No to tripling the debt over the next 10 yrs.  I know Bush started it, yadda yadda, get over it, he is not the President anymore.  Its time to start looking at who is in charge and taking a hard look at his ideas now.

No to the fuzzy math, who are these experts, trot them out into the light, and let the people examine their work.

No to Tim Geithner, every time he speaks, the market takes a roller coaster ride, 90% of the time plunging.  Look what he did to the dollar yesterday when he said that a world wide currency should be at least considered.  He should check to see what the President said during his PR conference the night before.

No to funding ACORN, community organizers …not even close.  More like political tool of the left.  I want them to return the funds they used to bus people up to Connecticut to harass the AIG folks, who in fact had already returned the bonuses.  Why not, Obama paid them off with stimulus and budget  funding.

No to “cap and trade” energy policies.  Whatever money you think the government is going to give you, will be eaten up by higher electric and gas bills.  There is no refund, if its taken away by new taxes.

No to higher taxes on the oil industry,  they only get passed on to the consumer.  Which is probably what the administration wants, so we can all be forced to drive those tiny Euro style cars.

No to the whole global warming agenda, which was renamed climate change, because we have been getting COLDER over the past 10 years.

No to any new ammo taxes.  If they cannot get rid of the guns, they will make it so expensive that nobody will buy them.  Its the same philosophy that Biden and Obama proclaimed during the elections, when discussing the future of the coal based electrical plants.  We cannot tell you not to build them, but we will slap taxes on them so high, you won’t want to.

No to staged and faked outrage over BONUSSES,  you put them in their Senator Dodd, we know the adminstration told you to.  Quit with the smokescreens already.

No to the name calling Barney Frank,  not everyone who disagrees with you is not a “homophobe”.  Least of all a Supreme Court Justice who actually knows what is written in the Constitution.

No to the often used Obama quote, “If it were so easy, anyone could do it”.  It might be easier if you focused on one problem at a time, maybe that way Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Frank wouldn’t make you look so foolish.  Not that you don’t agree with them anyway.

No to selling our debt to China,  they don’t like us, never have.  But the government, past and certainly present, has given them a “chip”, an edge in any future problem that comes up over the horizon.  It could be trade, fuels, Korea or it could be Formosa/Taiwan…whatever its called these days.

With the current administration, there will be more to come, and its ok to say no when preserving what freedoms we have, what money is left in the wallet and retirement funds, no to higher fuel costs because of some bogus philosophy, no to cutting off oil exploration and drilling, no to wind farms that just will not produce what they claim, no to socialism, no to government take overs….no, no, no!

Obama Gives the Term “Czars” a Bad Name

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Not exactly sure why we need a “czar” for every department that already exists; already have a health department, so why do we need a czar to look over the shoulder of the cabinet member?  Two things are basically wrong with this, either they will be running independently of the dept. or they will be doing the exact same job, and double dipping out of the funds.

We have a car czar too, no wonder Ford said no thank you to that kind of government oversight.  Nothing could convince anyone with common sense that someone with no idea how a car is built bottom to top, should be in charge of overseeing the car industry.  They make decisions about mileage, carbon and distribution.  No thought about all the support jobs that they will be affecting.

Tea Parties Around The Country

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

coopertp2While the liberal press made note of some of the small turnouts around the country for the basically unorganized, unscripted protests of new Washington spending, they fail to see the point.  They forget the actual size of the original Boston Tea Party, where a small fistful of dedicated patriots made one small act symbolic for the feelings of a nation on its way to being born.

The Sons of Liberty were not numbered by the thousands, but by the tens, maybe if you stretch it, by the hundreds around the colonies.  So when you hear of the small turnouts, think back in perspective, and realize its not the numbers, but the growing sentiments around the nation today that are key.  These weren’t people looking for handouts like other bigger demonstrations in recent memory, all they want is the chance to stand on their own two feet, to live their lives like they were promised by right of birth,  and to make their own fortunes without them being plundered by politicians of any party affiliation.

Here at home, Lansing, Michigan.  Across the country they gathered:

Cleveland, OH

Houston, and Austin, TX

Denver, Colorado

San Diego, CA

Sacramento, CA

Atlanta, GA

Tampa Bay, and Orlando, FLA

Hartford, CT

Shelby, Alabama

Chicago, IL

Portland, Nashville, Oklahoma City, North Carolina,  and many more.

Here are some of my favorite pics that were found online this morning.  You won’t find anyone asking to pay their bills, find them better jobs or sitting on their tails while the people pay their way.
