Forget Pelosi for a sec, Biden does it again

Monday, May 18th, 2009

I heard somewhere this weekend that Nancy Pelosi was the “gift that just keeps on giving”.  I thought we already have the Vice-President Joe Biden with that crown, and then the next day almost on cue good ol’ Joe does it again. If I believed in conspiracy theories, I would say Obama told Biden to provide the media with his latest blunder in order to take some of the heat off of Pelosi.

I think its more of Biden wanting to impress people when he says these incredibly stupid things, his latest being a doozy that will cost American tax payers millions of dollars.  He told people who attended the annual Gridiron Dinner in DC where the Vice Presidential Secret Bunker is located.  While the President would be ushered to Air Force One in case of an emergency, the VP would go underground during such an event.

Now that the blabbering VP has struck again, it will cost Americans millions to replace the bunker with a new secure facility.  The scary thing about all of this leads back to the President himself.  Because of his overall lack of experience in government, Obama picked Biden for the backup job because he was the best and brightest that the Democrats had in the area of foreign affairs.  Seriously?  They had no one better in that field of “expertise”.

Biden might be able to spell “potato”, but he makes Dan Quayle look like a genius!

Pelosi going down in FLAMES

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Watching the train wreck that is Nancy Pelosi is truly sad, and the best outcome would be that she either steps down or is impeached.  Most news organizations are reporting that the Republicans are going after her hard, but one thing is missing from the reports is the amount of support she has from her Democratic colleagues.  That is because there is none, nobody wants to be associated with her in this mess,  except maybe Jane Harmon another Dem from California.  Only because this person actually wrote about her concerns and passed this information on to the appropriate higher ups.  Its her way of getting back at Pelosi for being fully aware that Harmon was under investigation and being wiretapped by the NSAin a pay for play scandal with Israeli agents so she could become chair of the intelligence committee.

In Pelosi’s case,  her only response at the time was “Is this enough?”.  She was caught red, or blue handed  knowing all about the “enhanced tactics”.  Now the flock is leaving her side in droves.

CIA Briefings

Now she says that the CIA mislead her, that they do it all the time.  First it was, and she repeats, we were not told of water boarding, then it was we were told, but not being told it was being used, but could be used.  Somewhere on TV this morning this was said, people get lead away in straight jackets for rambling like this.  Its the old conspiracy theory run a muck.

The Anti-Green Day Handbook

green-hell

Green Hell  dispels many of the green movement’s myths that have been spread the last few years.  Listed on the NY Times Best Seller List, the book attacks these myths with facts.

Case in point, those wonderful little CFL light bulbs that we all must switch to, as federally mandated.  Not only do they cost  you more at the store, and then to deal with when they burn out, because you simply cannot throw them in the trash because they contain MERCURY.  This doesn’t even cover the headache that will take place if you break one in your home:

“Consider the case of Brandy Bridgesof Ellsworth, Maine, who had the misfortune of dropping a CFL. — Bridges called her local Home Depot for advice. The store told her — she should call the poison control hotline which in turn directed her to the Maine Department of Environmental protection. The DEP sent a specialist to Bridges’s house to test for mercury contamination. The specialist found mercury levels — in excess of six times the state’s ’safe’ level for mercury contamination [and] recommended that Bridges call an environmental cleanup firm, which gave her a ‘low-ball’ estimate of $2,000 to clean up the room. The room was sealed off with plastic and Bridges began ‘gathering finances’ to pay for the costly cleaning.”

In related news, the House has started to discuss and debate issues related to the environment and “climate change“.

Monroe’s Tea Party: Pics and Thoughts

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

After looking through 40 pictures that I took yesterday, finding the ones that were actually in focus (that’s why you take duplicates) and getting them re-sized, finally ready to post.

Again, as I quickly wrote yesterday, this was a great event for all those who attended.  I met an 83 year old World War II vet who was in charge of all the electrical wiring at both the Monroe Power Plant and Fermi II when they were built.  Saw a dear friend from Maybee who I only see at the fair anymore.  Some old friends from the days working in Dundee.  The best part though was actually just saying “hello” and talking to different folks who came together with the same ideas in mind.

Government is too big, and intrusive.

Too many taxes, and the wasteful spending of those taxes.

Disdain for those elected to the state and federal government who do not read bills, or listen or respond to their constituents.

False hope from misleading campaign promises used just to get elected.  I know, nothing really new, but still aren’t you tired of it too?

Here are some pics of the event, and will have more later.

Tax Day Tea Party in Monroe, and Around the Country

Friday, April 10th, 2009

The small tea parties that started a few months ago have grown by leaps and bounds and will reach record numbers on April 15th.  A lot of this has been ignored in the media, although some have been diligent in their reporting on the grass roots demonstration over government spending and new tax proposals.

This isn’t a democratic vs republican thing, its people tired of paying their fair share, and their brother’s too.  Its about busting your hump to provide a living for your family, while congress fails to read bills before they are sent to be a law, that takes more money out of your pocket.  It might not be in the form of an income tax, it could be a tobacco tax, beer tax, gas tax, cap and trade tax or simply a tea tax.  Tax is tax, you cannot sugar coat it, it takes money out of your pocket,  then goes through the government, where they put it in somebody else’s pocket.

Where to go in Michigan, there isn’t just one to go to either and there will be one right here in Monroe at St. Mary’s Park.

City: Monroe
When: April 15, 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Where: St. Marys Park, corner of Elm and Monroe Streets
Contact: strowbridge@trowbridgefinancial.com

Here are some comments from around the country taken from a few sites I found.  This is a real underground/grass roots movement.  There were literally too many sites to post all the links.  The left in the media just do not want you to know about it………..  You won’t see a million at a single party (more than likely), but you will see millions from across the country gettting together to have their voices heard.

Frank Bullies Law Student

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

I thought there for a while it was just Bill O’Reilly that Frank had a problem asnwering questions from. Here is a link from Real Clear Politics website with the video were Frank betrates a law student from Harvard.  I would have linked the You Tube vids, but the language used in the comments would not be appropriate.  Frank continues to deny any responsibility for his part in the economic crisis and for provisions in the stimulus bill that he helped push through before anyone had a chance to read it.

While Obama Goes on His Spin Tour

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

While Rome was burning, it was said that Nero was playing his fiddle.  While D.C. is up in arms,  President Obama fills out his NCAA brackets for the office pool back at the White House, then Leno, then the cover up for AIG and finally town hall meetings for pushing a failed health care system.

When Harry Ried said that the original bailout had no hopes of succeeding without John McCain’s vote,  the candidate suspended his work on the trail and went back to Washington to hammer out the details.  Course this was a trap that Obama quickly pounced on, claiming he could do more on the phone, and could walk and chew gum at the same time.

While the treasury is over whelmed because they cannot confirm an under secretary due to tax problems of their own, why would the President start a PR tour?  While people are wondering about the future of their jobs, why is he yucking it up on Leno?

Obama Considers Cutting Out VA Benefits

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

The President is considering cutting out benefits for the veterans who were injured while in the line of duty.  The veterans would be responsible for finding private insurers to cover the costs!  Needless to say the Vets aren’t happy, and they deserve better from the government they protected!

A Lansing Tea Party: The Seeds of Revolution

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

This lil’ tea party was inspired by an on air personality Rick Santelli, on of all stations CNBC.

The movement is picking up steam, when you google, you find lots of blog sites posting and commenting.

http://www.rightmichigan.com/story/2009/2/24/93630/6089

I heard about it this morning on the Frank Beckman show on WJR.  One of the grass roots organizers (no, not ACORN) called in with some information about Tea Party Rally tomorrow at Noon on the steps of the Capitol in Lansing.

Who knows, maybe some good can come from Lansing these days,  maybe the message of the common sense folk can be heard all the way to the District of Columbia.  Did you hear how much President Obama wants for his budget this year?  On top of their pet spending projects?  On top of the failed bailouts?

What could be the governments biggest fear this year, the the people rise up and say no to taxes, or that the Chinese say no to anymore loans?

Quick Hits from Monday

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

As I take a break from packing for my trip to the Land of Lincoln, or Land of Corruption.  Here are some quick thoughts from the news yesterday and some additional thoughts.

Now that the spending bill has been passed, watch for the end of the “Doom and Gloom” rhetoric for a while.  Everything is all better know, until the next stimulus bill reaches the floor of the House.  The second one, probably will focus more on jobs and cuts, vs the pet project that was signed.

For all the stomping, the market seems smarter than the President’s inner circle, it tanked again yesterday after the signing of the bill into law.

Obama needs to quit spinning history,  Roosevelt was a terrible economic leader, but a great war time leader.  World War II was the only thing that got the people back to work and got us out of the Great Depression.  Since he so fond of comparing these two times in our history, he should get it right.

JFK and Ike did lead us out of hard economic times, but their plans were based on tax cuts, not frivolous spending projects.

In two years the Republicans will gain back control of the congress because of the passage of this bill.  Even though the president will have two more years, they will be able to block any more garbage like what was just signed into law.

In the meantime, watch your retirement accounts, listen to the rhetoric, and pull out before they are seized by the fed.  Obama wants us to be more European, its what they have done there.

The jobs he promises are not in proven fields, wind, solar and green tech.  These are not jobs, but gearing us toward their perfect idea of utopia.  The jobs don’t exist, won’t exist for those losing their auto jobs.

Watch the price of oil rise again, this administration and congress will do nothing about producing power that already exists to help out in our own wallets.  They have a bigger agenda, damn the costs for the people on “mainstreet”.  Remember that campaign promise when they won’t even consider drilling for oil, an energy solutions that already exists now.

Rham Emmanuel, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Ried and President Obama think they know what is best for the American people.  It reminds me of Alexander Hamilton and his thoughts on the common masses.

Ok, in three weeks its been all about spending, making the government even bigger.  Where is the line by line process the President promised about cutting federal spending and removing dead agencies?

Why an Euro model, give me one good example of socialism working across the Atlantic.  We aren’t Sweden, or even England.  We already fought one war against unfair taxes, and another to protect the nation from it happening again.

General Motors and Chrysler should tell the govt to stick it.  Forget the brow beating, the government control and the needless waste of money in their vision of the auto world.  File for bankruptcy, restructure and come back stronger than ever.  This congress, this president will never allow the cuts to be made that are necessary.  Even though they hurt the workers at every turn with emission standards and CART reforms,  they still need the unions to get elected.  Iacocca where are you now?  Could you actually see Henry Ford bending over to appease California standards?  Heck no, ol’ Henry would say this is the car I build, its available in black, buy it or don’t.  How long would CA go without new cars being available in their state?!
