Great day for sports
What a great day for sports in Detroit!
The Tigers taking on Central Division foe Chicago at 1 p.m., then a playoff doubleheader with the Red Wings at 3 p.m. and the Pistons at 7. And all three are at home. Detroit (and Auburn Hills) will be jumping.
I’ve got to make sure I have fresh batteries in my TV remote.

It was a great day for Detroit sports, however, I was a the Tiger game. I was really excited: Robertson pitching, the weather was great, really, really good seats. Then my Tiger, Carlos Guillen hit that grand slam and it was good! Then Nate continued to pitch well…then something happened and he turned into a Nate I’ve never seen before. Although I think that Robertson pitched well enough to win the game, it didn’t happend. I hope Leyland lays into the team a little, I think they need a serious talk, especially the bullpen. Not sure what’s happening with Sheffield but there were a couple of boos (I never boo) but I think the most of the fans would like to see him start hitting the ball. The very reason we got him and the reason he is where he’s at in the line up! He’s got to do better.

Well, as Meatloaf used to sing, “Two out of three ain’t bad.”
The Tigers suffered a frustrating loss, but the Pistons and Red Wings both won their playoff games in impressive fashion.
After a tentative start, the Wings dominated Calgary to take a 3-2 series lead. Detroit’s penalty killing was the key, completely dousing the Flames attack and coming up with a pair of shorthanded scores.
And the Pistons were in totally controlled the opening game of their series against Orlando. It’s just too bad that they let the Magic sneak back into the game at the end. That’s a dangerous pattern the Pistons seem to like to follow.
