Gagne won’t be happy as a setup man, Reyes is really unproven as a closer, could we make a deal for him? I hope not. The bullpen needs a day or two off, they can’t be expected to come in every day. Why not bring
Vasquez back in and let him start? At least he made it to the 6th last time out and did pitch good enough to win. for that matter I would have made a run at Teixiera,Casey’s days are numbered,sheff and Mags arn’t getting any younger.Granderson looks like he will preform well for another 10 years, so why not send Maybin and a pitching prospect for Teixiera and Gagne.

I am not certain about this, but I don’t think the Tigers could recall Vasquez at this point. I think there is some rule about having to remain in the minors a certain number of days after being sent down. Besides, Jordan Tata was scheduled to start for Toledo on Monday, so calling him up to pitch for Detroit kept him in his regular rotation.
Texiera would have been a good fit for the Tigers, but I wouldn’t have given up Maybin. Everything I hear about him says he has a chance to be a superstar.
