A week or so ago it appeared that the Detroit Tigers would not make a deal at the trade deadline. They seemed content to wait for Fernando Rodney and Joel Zumaya to return from injuries.
But last week probably changed all of that. The poor performance of the pitching staff, coupled with the injury to Kenny Rogers probably will force Dave Dombrowski to make a deal, if for nothing else to prove to the team that the organization is serious about winning this year.

Hey Niles,
Cancel my last thought as Teixeria has been moved as expected to the Braves!
The Braves paid a pretty hefty price to get Texiera.
