The technology is working!
I am sitting here at the Division 1 state softball semifinals watching Monroe play New Baltimore Anchor Bay. In previous trips here, the wireless connection would not work at the press table. I was pleasantly surprised to get a signal this time.
Monroe’s Amber Rafko was safe on an error in the top of the first, but the Trojans did not score.

Anchor Bay scored a run in the bottom of the first inning.
Ashley Everett led off the second with a single, was sacrificed to second by Molly McNamee and eventually made it to third when Kaitlyn Whitmarsh was safe on an error, but Monroe could not score.
Monroe’s Emily Pilon struck out the side in the bottom of the second with a single in between.
Pilon smacks a single up the middle with one out in the third. Her pulled quad muscle is really bothering her. Natalie LaBeau goes in as a courtesy runner.
LaBeau is stranded on first base. It’s 1-0 Anchor Bay after two and a half innings.
Pilon got Anchor Bay 1-2-3 in the third with two strikeouts.
Monroe’s Molly McNamee ripped a one-out double in the fourth, but was cut down trying to stretch it to a triple.

Olivia Nichols leads off the fourth for Anchor Bay with a double.
Anchor Bay goes up 2-0 on an RBI single by Kasey McKay.
Anchor Bay now leads 3-0 with runners on second and third with one out.
Monroe cuts a runner down at the plate as Pilon fields a bunt and tosses to catcher Amber Rafko.
Monroe works out of the jam. It remains 3-0 Anchor Bay.

Pilon is hit by a pitch to start the sixth and LaBeau comes in as a courtesy runner.

An RBI single by Sydney Smith gives Monroe its first run. The Trojans have runners on first and second with no outs.
Monroe cuts the deficit to 3-2 on an RBI single by Everett. Still no outs with runners on first and second.
McNamee sacrifices the runners up to second and third.
Johnna Woods flies out to left, but not deep enough to get a run in.
Whitmarsh is safe on an error and pinch-runner Megan Thornton scores the tying run.
Monroe settles for three runs to tie the game 3-3.
Anchor Bay has retaken the lead on a throwing error. It leads 4-3.
A sacrifice fly makes it 5-3 Anchor Bay.
Monroe has one last chance, trailing 5-3 heading into the seventh inning.
