Dundee’s softball team racked up 13 hits, including a pair of no-doubt home runs, to power past Allen Park Cabrini 11-5 in the Division 3 state semifinals Friday. Dundee will make it first-ever appearance in the state finals at 10 a.m. Saturday, taking on perennial power Unionville Sebewaing in the state championship game.

Dundee’s head coach Mickey Moody sits as he watches his starting pitcher, Vanessa Ewing, warm up on another diamond before the Division 3 state finals at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.
Dundee has completed its infield session and the umpires are meeting with captains and coaches at home plate. We are about ready to start.
USA is taking infield now.
I just had a brief conversation with Dundee coach Mickey Moody. He says his girls are “ready.” I asked him him for his scouting report on USA and he said simply, “They can hit.”
