Virtual Tourism: With gas prices as high as they are, this is how I’ll be traveling this summer. Someone took the time to link to Google satellite images of popular tourist attractions around the world. I visited Hong Kong tonight. I’m thinking of going on virtual vacation to El Salvador tomorrow night. I need to get some sleep, that jet lag is killin’ me.

Thursday, May 31st, 2007How much is your site worth?
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
dnScoop.com: Find out how much your site is worth. Put in a domain and you get a list of results. Domain age, pagerank check, inbound links, traffic rank, indexed pages, link value report and a site value report. Very cool – I can’t wait to try Google.com.. my guess is it’s worth a few bucks.
What a long strange trip it’s been..

TechCrunch today reported that Dead.net is getting a makeover.
“The new version of Dead.net was created on the Drupal content management platform and features extensive archives cataloging Grateful Dead history, songs, photos, memorabilia, and shows, indexed and searchable by tags. Dead users will be able to participate in forums, upload their own photos, and bookmark concerts and shows they have attended. Fans will also be treated to exclusive free mp3 show downloads.”
Deadheads were social networking before the concept was brought to the internet. Can’t wait to try it out..!

Justin.tv: I’m probably the last one to see this, but I figured I would post it anyhow. This guy is wearing a camera on his head and filming his entire life -24/7. I’ve been watching him unpack his things in the new apartment he just moved into. As you watch, you can chat along with a bunch of others in a chat rom right next to the live video. Crazy! Bored with Justin? I guess they are planning to launch other channels – try Justine to watch the life of a freelance graphic designer working on her macintosh.
Hot or not.. for dogs!

UnitedDogs.com: I kind of figured this was coming. A social networking site for dogs. Create an account for your dog and upload pictures. People can rate and comment on them. Keep a dog diary, even send doggie mail to other dogs. I decided our little schipperke needed to be on the site, so I created a page just for Daisy. You better believe I’ll be keeping an eye on it though, I don’t want any rude comments from those older pit-bull boys.
Open source as alternative
Friday, May 25th, 2007
If you’re as into open source software as I am, you’re going to love this site. Osalt.com categorizes software, and breaks it down displaying first the commercial ($) software, and then the open source alternatives. Just buzzing around it today I found a couple cool open source alternatives that I didn’t even know existed. Very cool, and something I’ll be keeping an eye on.

Thursday, May 24th, 2007How good of a typist are you?
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007
TypeOnline: I always like to take these typing tests when I run across them to see if my skills are still up to par. They’ve definitely slipped some, but I’m still pushing 60-70 wpm.. I have pretty good accuracy, probably only when doing a typing speed test.
This site would be pretty useful to those trying to keep polished at typing, pretty in depth for a free website. Hey – post your results, I’m curious of how some of you speed typists that read this blog will do on the speed test.

Nintendo games online: I’m sure this is probably old news, but it was kind of a flash from the past seeing some of the games like Skate or Die, Excite Bike and Super Mario 3.. wow, I spent countless hours with this gaming system. Remember as the thing wore out, the trick was to blow on the inside of the games to get them working? I still never figured out how the gun worked on Duck Hunt.
