If you’re even somewhat interested in the finer beers of the world, be sure to check out BeerAdvocate – an awesome resource for beer connoisseurs. A couple of my local favorites: Dark Horse Brewing (the Crooked Tree IPA is amazing), Michigan Brewing Company, New Holland, Fort St. Brewing to name a few.. 
If everyone isn’t aware, the Food Town on Telegraph sells most of these companies beers – the beer aisle there is literally Beer Heaven!
Beer Fest! – I should also add, that tickets have gone on sale for the 10th annual Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, MI. This festival is pretty awesome. Brewery after brewery in tents giving small samples of their beers. The people that attend are very friendly and really into beer (notice the high ticket prices – kind of weeds out the bud light crowd) – see the website for more info: Michigan Summer Beer Festival
