Operate on a stuffed bunny: Took me three tries, but I finally saved the bunny! - First trick is to keep zapping him until his heart starts beating again. This is just an obscure flash intro to a web design company. Amazing… and creepy!

Time for some randome links:

Free e-books! A giant list of online resources for free e-books (books to read online, PDA or iPod) as well as some good links to community book websites.

How to - online videos: A nice list of websites promoting how-to sites. Some of these are really cool, one of these is where I learned about the whole mentos/diet coke trick.

100_5128.jpgpic.jpgPhoto to Ascii art: Upload any photo and covert it to text with this website - also has a handy Firefox extension if you’d like to do this on a regular basis.

Paper wallet - I am so making one of these. Upload photos and this little program will create a paper wallet for you - it generates a PDF file that you cut out and fold into a paper wallet. Very cool!

Netflix for Books?! - I guess it’s true. Rent books, keep as long as you want, and send back (free shipping). I didn’t actually see the monthly fee on the site, but it says “cheap books,” so it can’t be all that bad. Interesting idea.

Beer label generator!

beer.jpg

If you’re even somewhat interested in the finer beers of the world, be sure to check out BeerAdvocate - an awesome resource for beer connoisseurs. A couple of my local favorites: Dark Horse Brewing (the Crooked Tree IPA is amazing), Michigan Brewing Company, New Holland, Fort St. Brewing to name a few.. :) If everyone isn’t aware, the Food Town on Telegraph sells most of these companies beers - the beer aisle there is literally Beer Heaven!

Guitar tuner

guitartuner.jpg

I spent a lot of days in wet dingy basements and garages.  Jamming, writing songs, playing until the neighbors complained..  yes, I was in a few garage bands in my day.   A good part of the time, we spent tuning guitars.  I was amazed at some of the first online guitar tuners that came out.  I sat down with my guitar tonight, and noticed it was out of tune..  being as I’ve misplaced both of my electric tuners, I turned to the internet.  Sure enough, the first google search pulled up this bad boy - one that I’ve never seen before.   PERFECT!   You can’t get any better.   It’s like a live guitar playing back at you through each note.  Others I’ve seen have just been a sound (not a guitar).   So, kudos dudes - you’ve won me over..   Now if they’d only make a downloadable version… :)    haha.. nevermind.   Read below the picture on the website..  Mac or PC!

Air Guitar!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

airguitar1.jpgCheck it out folks, a real life air guitar that you can purchase. I saw this, and had to laugh. I wonder if they’ll make different styles of these eventually - because I’m holding out for the Les Paul air guitar - this one looks pretty cheap anyhow. :) If you’re really into air guitar-ing, be sure to check out this video from the air guitar world championship 2006 - this dude shreds!!

Flash animation

flash.jpgI saw this last week, and finally had a chance to really watch it. Amazing. Over 1 million key frames in this bad boy. The last, first and only flash animation I made, had about 50 key frames, and I swear it took me a whole day to do. :) Click the picture to view the animation.
