Not only am I a technology geek, I’m also a cheapskate. I love deals or freebies – really, who doesn’t?! I was leery as I pulled up through the McDonald’s drive-thru today wondering if I was getting roped into a combo meal or something. As I pulled in, there it was – the sign that read “Free Iced Coffee Wednesday.” I didn’t catch the time, but I think from what I remember on the t.v. commercial it’s from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. I ordered my FREE iced coffee. She asked if I wanted a latte or a mocha. “Latte please!” I watched the computer screen ring up to $2.79 – then suddenly jump to FREE. I pulled through, got a receipt at the pay window, then pulled up and was handed a good sized iced coffee and a straw.

I’m actually really surprised by this coffee. It’s top notch. Some coffee shops iced coffees almost have a burnt coffee bean taste to them and are just way too sweet. This definitely has the “coffee shop/starbucks” flavor of a real iced latte, but is pretty perfect as far as the sweetness/strong coffee flavor goes. I’ll have to see if it gets me moving this morning – that’s the real test!
