WebMD symptom checker

WebMD offers a really sweet symptom check feature on their website. I decided to try this one out myself, and it worked! Enter the information the site asks for, where your aches, pains or rash is, and any other multiple choice selections it requires. A list of possible ailments will come up. Depending on the severity, you should probably get yourself to a doctors. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go tend to this poison ivy!!

Sites like Web MD can be dangerous though. I wonder how many people go into a doctor’s office on a daily basis convinced that they have some sort of ailment when it’s likely that they’ve just blown whatever it is out of proportion.

I confess though…I’m addicted to these kinds of sites. They’re always the first thing I go to! :-)

I used to eat dirt as a child. I still crave dirt, but of course I don’t eat it.
What is causing the craving and what can I do about it?

  10. I am a 67 year old woman. For the past year i have getting numbness around my mouth. I thought it was an allergic reaction. I do have allergies to dust mites, strong odors and I am sensitive to most soaps and need to use sensitive products. My allergist said he never heard of numbness around the mouth!!!!!!!

I have been having numbness in my legs from the knee down to toes. This happens when I get out of bed in the morning. It usually goes away some time in the morning. I walk every morning about a mile and it goes away. I have no pain walking and can walk for 2-3 miles without numbness. I have varicose veins and they turn blue and at times my toes get blue. I have had an MRI of the lumbar back and it shows nothing but a little arthritis. The last year my husband was fighting lung and bone cancer and passed away in May. These symptoms were with me but I pushed everything aside while he was sick. HELP ME, PLEASE.
