Welcome
Hello and welcome to my Teen-Tech blog. This blog will be about the latest technology stuff, but all oriented towards teens. Within this blog, I will discuss Video Games, movies, and gadgetry.
Well enough about what this is going to be about.
In recent events, World of Warcraft (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com) released a new expansion pack for the game that has captivated many, many, many people, both young and old. The expansion pack, named Burning Crusades, was released January 16, 2007. Four people in my computers class at school went to the 12:01 AM release to get it as soon as humanly possible. This release brought almost as many people camping out at stores as did the new Star Wars films. I, personally was amazed. The base of the game costs around 30$ and the expansion was about 50$, and on top of that there is a 15$ a month fee for playing this game. Blizzard (the makers of “WoW”) boasts about 7,000,000 players world wide. Let’s do the math. 7,000,000 * 15 = 105,000,000 dollars a month intake off of this game. Don’t get me wrong. If I had the money, I too would be a player of this graphically beautiful and amazingly well done game. Kudos to Blizzard.

Gee, I turn my back on my kids for two seconds, and … and …
Everyone, I’d like you to meet my oldest son, Aaron, who continues to follow in dad’s footsteps … sometimes without even telling him.
Aaron has a lot of other tech activities he didn’t mention in his About page. Our house is set up for LAN parties, where kids bring their computers to play first-person shooting games through a network Aaron has built. Past sponsors of these parties have included ATI Graphics, with the Frog Leg Inn in Erie providing gourmet pizzas. An upcoming LAN party will be sponsored by nVidia. He also builds web sites for businesses and maintains in-house networks for a couple businesses as well.
Even though I’ve been in computing since about 1976, I find Aaron’s advice on a lot of tech issues to be invaluable. You should too.
Besides, even though I installed the wireless gear here and worked on it for two hours, Aaron is the one who, as I predicted, got it running in five minutes.
Show-off …
A Proud Dad,

Way to go Aaron!!!
Perfect pick for a first installment on tech stuff.
We found WoW basic can be down loaded for free. It just takes a loooong time. Then of course there is the teaser of 10 days of play for free…..pull you in, get you hooked….Yep, they got us to sign up for a month of play after that! I hope I will not feel the need to go to the expansion pack.
You are right about the graphics in the program. The amount of imagination involved is something else. Add to that the programing that has to be put together….that’s just too much to think about… I think I’ll go play WoW for a while.
