Watch “Six Degrees” on the National Geographic Channel, Sunday, February 10th at 8 et/9 pt.
Six Degrees is a book by British science writer Mark Lynas. As the National Geographic website explained: “In possibly the most graphic treatment of global warming yet published, noted science writer and 2006 National Geographic Emerging Explorer Mark Lynas explains in his latest book, Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet, how Earth’s climate will be impacted with every degree of increase in temperature…”
I’ve seen the previews of this and if you’ve ever wondered what changes one degree in overall planet temperature brings, then watch this. It’s quite frightening. The good thing about it is that we don’t necessarily have to warm 6 more degrees. We can curtail the rise in temperature and hopefully soon. The more we learn the more we can contribute toward saving the planet.
